WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

November 19th, 2015 at 2:00am

I can not explain the love I have for the colorful leaves, pumpkin spice lattes and the crisp air of autumn, but I will try. The feel of a cool breeze and the scattered sparkle of holiday lights throughout city from Halloween to New Year’s brings me a joy that is much needed as I charge through the last few weeks of the fall quarter. School may be as stressful as ever, and work outside of class is always bringing new challenges, but fall is a time to remember the good things in life, to bundle up and get cozy with loved ones and to pull out those fall clothes.

What I like about this Fashionista’s look is that she is not limiting florals to just the spring season. This navy and white outfit is simple and cool with a touch of romance. The billowing silk tunic and ivory cropped sleeve top are great for that layered fall feel and a frolic or two through a pumpkin patch. In my book, high-waisted jeans are something to never say no to and a look like this explains why. These jeans paired with the leather ankle booties beautifully elongate this petite Fashionista.

One Simple Change: Live is a town where it’s already too cold to leave the house without your cold weather necessities? Trust me, I’ll be home to the Windy City soon, so I understand the need to be both cute and warm. Top off this look with this Calvin Klein wrap coat and this chunky knit scarf from Free People to maintain a feminine feel.
