WHAT TO WEAR: Day To Night

February 17th, 2015 at 2:00am

We’ve all been there. After a whirlwind day of classes and meetings, the last thing we want to do is figure out a second ensemble for the evening. What’s great about the winter weather is that it allows for pieces that serve as great bases for a myriad of outfits. This Fashionista has got a head start on her nighttime attire.

The dark wash denim and neutral heeled booties, as sported by this Fashionista, are the perfect bases for easily transitioning from day to night. The plaid flannel is perfectly cozy for the trek to class while also suitable for transitioning to a night out. Let’s be honest. Everyone knows that plaid is seriously rad. It’s no wonder the checked pattern was a favorite of famous duo, Cher and Dionne. If you were unaware, I’d have to say you were clueless—terribly cheesy pun intended. Plaid is such a versatile pattern and when paired with the right pieces, it can be perfect for the party.

While this Fashionista’s voluminous outerwear is ideal for crossing the quad, one might not want to sport such a warm coat on a night out. It can be quickly and easily swapped out for a faux fur vest or a leather jacket that will keep you warm while not overtly so. Whether heading to dinner, the cinema or downtown for drinks and dancing, these lighter outerwear options are ideal for nighttime festivities.

This Fashionista need only add a smoky eye or a bold lip, and she’ll be all set to hit the town for date night, a girl’s night out or whatever the evening has in store.

One Simple Change: Keep the coat. Swap out the booties for a pair of Converse or Vans slip-on sneakers and a school cap. Then you’re ready to tailgate before the basketball, lacrosse or whichever sports game in a comfortable cool-chick ensemble.
