Hi angels! I don’t know you and you don’t know me but I’m excited to tell you all a little bit about my old self. Now I say “old” because I am truly an old soul, not because I’m old in age or anything like that.

Well, my name is Cynthia Lau and I am currently a biology major at Florida International University in preparation for medical school. You might think “what do fashion and biology have in common.” To be honest, absolutely nothing, but that’s the beauty of it. I can interchange between two passions.

When I’m not in school you can find me rehearsing for my next dance show, or stalking the latest fashion trends around the world. I find it fascinating how people with different tastes and cultures are able to express themselves so boldly through what they wear. As a belly dancer, I’ve come to adore statement pieces that can simply make the outfits I wear stand out. 

For me style characterizes who we are, and what better way to express yourself than by mix and matching outfits. I personally prefer the boho look while adding my own edgy and feminine twist. Most of my day to day outfits consist of jeans, crop tops or dresses and, of course, a statement piece, whether it is a jacket, hat or necklace. I keep it simple but at the same time I try to make my outfits work for more than one occasion and that angels is the most captivating thing about fashion. 

I find inspiration from just about anyone because while we may share common interests, style is unique to our persona. Teen Vogue and Seventeen Magazine are great guides for the latest fashion trends. Comfort is key in my style and I can assure you everything in my closet is extremely comfortable to wear, even a pair of heels. 

I am a first time Style Guru and am extremely excited to have some fashion fun. So keep in touch, because I definitely will.
