Hey there Fashionistas! My name is Chynah and I am a student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro majoring in communication studies with a double minor in media studies and African American studies. I am beyond excited to be a part of the Style Guru team and very interested to see what the other Style Gurus bring to the mix!

I tend to pull fashion inspiration from stars such as Zendaya, ’90s Tatyana M. Ali and Kehlani. Each of them has a chic, individual and comfortable-vibe about them that I love. In addition to each of these lovely ladies, I love their makeup and hair choices. Each of them embodies the exact looks and moods I strive for on the regular.

In my photos above, I give a sneak peek into my mindset when I put together an outfit, staying true to my real motivation and that is comfortability! For me, that is where skirts and simple sandals come into play but I make sure to never fade into the background with regular pieces. My striped top from Charlotte Russe is one of my favorites  because I always feel so feminine but trendy at the same time. I’ve been told I can be flashy but I don’t think so. I have a love for all things gold! My favorite watch is from Michael Kors and it has a mahogany leather band and gold square face. It was a gift from my father for my birthday and I wear it whenever I need that something extra. On the note of something extra, I am almost never seen without my little gold bracelet with diamond accents from Charming Charlie.

To me, personal style is more than just about what you wear but how you wear it. If you don’t believe what you’re wearing is the best outfit out there, then why bother? During my time here with CollegeFashionista I hope to capture how others wear their outfits and not the other way around!
