STYLE GURU BIO: Briana Lewis

Hello Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I am so glad to be back for another semester! My name is Briana Lewis and this will be my third semester with CollegeFashionista. I am an editing, writing and media major at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. I have a love for fashion and writing so I am glad to have the opportunity to combine the two. My career goals are to be able to work in the fashion PR industry, or a photographer. My overall end goal would to become a creative director one day.

Being that this is my third semester with CollegeFashionista I feel as though I have learned and experienced a lot. It has opened my mind to the opportunities there are in this industry and has really given me practice. I feel my writing and eye for fashion has really grown. As I enter my senior year of college I am really feeling like I have some experience and can’t wait to scope out the new fashion trends I see on campus.

Interning for CollegeFashionista has really become a hobby of mind and I love that I am gaining experience like this, because I know it will be necessary in my future career. I truly enjoy practicing outside of the internship and taking pictures, by having mini photoshoots with my friends. The internship has really helped me to expand my focus and expand my photography skills.

I have even stepped up my personal style and choices in fashion. In the pictures above I am wearing a denim dress that was thrifted and distressed by a friend of mine with white Converse sneakers and a black choker. I think this look is a great way to transition into the fall fashion with the denim material yet the dress is short and sleeveless so I can still take on this Florida heat!

I grew up in Miami, Florida and have lived there all my life until I moved to Tallahassee for college. I’m an only child so I tend to be kinda spoiled and comfortable being alone or independent. I just turned 21 and I’m very excited about that! I am an Editing, writing and media English major. My career goal would be to a fashion editor or writer for a major fashion magazine like Vogue or to be a stylists in the fashion industry. I enjoy fashion and shopping and high in companies. Fashion is like a hobby for me but I have building to make it be a part of my career. I’ve always been interested in fasion and celebrity styles and high in fashion and the red carpets, etc. I’m really big on t.v watching but what mot people call “bad t.v” like the reality shows like the Real Housewives shows and the Kardashians. I love shows like that. I don’t know how to drive but i’m working on it. I enjoy doing make up and working with it and I am prety good at and I have a large collection of make up. I love hanging out with my friends and going on little excursions around Tally with them. I am a part of Diverse World Fashion on campus which is a student run fashion magazine. I enjoy hanging with my friends who are also a part og the magazine because we have similar ideas and future goals and we work with each other to build our portfolios. Two of my friends on the magazine and I often have mii photoshoots to help my friend that wants to be a photographer and I get to practice styling and creating concepts and we have fun. My fvorie food is tacos. Even though all junk food is my favorite food. Over this next year I hope to gain a lot more knowledge in my field and become a better writer and learn about all the opportunities there is in the Editing, Writing, Media field
