STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Don't Let The Weather Get You Down

February 4th, 2015 at 2:00am

There is something funny about a snowfall that you didnt exactly know was coming. You would think the snow would get everyone down and cause their fashion to be subpar. I know we are in the depths of winter, but somehow I stumbled upon a Fashionista who managed to find a bit of spring/summer within herself during this season.

Mind you this was a very frigid day with snowfall close to four inches. I must admit her coat is what truly caught my eye, so decided to I tuck this Fashionista into an area where the snow had not hit, just so you could see the true beauty of it! I remember thinking to myself that her outfit really put a smile on my face when I did not really want to smile.

She managed to pair her gray coat with colorful embroidery with a scarf, hat, and gloves! I admire that she stayed neutral with black pants and boots keeping the eye focused on the amazing coat accessorized with a beautiful baroque scarf with metallic detail. This Fashionista is making realize how beautiful and warm winter can really be with the right outfit! I found within her the fashion advice I myself was needing to spice up my winter wardrobe.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t let the weather get you down! You can still wear fun colors and patterns within the depths of winter, just as long as you make sure to pair them with the right elements!”

Hi everyone! I'm Melanie Witzberger from Kent State University, but you can call me Mel. I am in my third year of college, however I'm graduating this August and am so excited about it! I am currently studying Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Marketing. I can not imagine studying anything other than Fashion, I absolutely love everything about it! This is my first semester as a Style Guru and I can not wait to see what this semester holds. The future is bright ( I hope literally), as I hope to move to California sometime after graduation. I would love to be a Stylist, Visual Merchandiser, or Buyer in the future. I also have a deep passion for all things dealing with social media and would love have a career that involves working with it!
