STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Casual Is Always In

April 15th, 2015 at 2:00am

April is my absolute favorite month out of the entire year. I may be a tad biased due to the fact that my birthday is in the middle of the month, but regardless I think it is the best time of year. I love the idea of the warm sun paired with a light rain. After all, that is what helps the bloom of beautiful spring flowers like tulips (my favorite). And who doesn’t love flowers and spring fashion?

I caught this Fashionista on her way to class on a rainy Monday afternoon. She paired a comfy white sweater with a pair of black leggings and oxblood booties. She added a touch of spring with her floral backpack filled with all of her necessities to get her through the afternoon jam packed with class. Accessories are always a must, so she added a statement necklace that is actually quite simple and beautiful.

I have a deep interest in beauty, so inevitably I am in love with this Fashionista’s look. The long bob, or lob, is a huge trend right now with style icons like Lauren Conrad sporting the look. This icy blonde lob is a fabulous addition to the Fashionista’s personal style! I also love that she made the effort to add a touch of lipstick. She even went for a bold red lip!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Keep it simple, but add a simple twist to make your look even more put together. Ultimately, casual and simple will always be on trend!”

Hi everyone! I'm Melanie Witzberger from Kent State University, but you can call me Mel. I am in my third year of college, however I'm graduating this August and am so excited about it! I am currently studying Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Marketing. I can not imagine studying anything other than Fashion, I absolutely love everything about it! This is my first semester as a Style Guru and I can not wait to see what this semester holds. The future is bright ( I hope literally), as I hope to move to California sometime after graduation. I would love to be a Stylist, Visual Merchandiser, or Buyer in the future. I also have a deep passion for all things dealing with social media and would love have a career that involves working with it!
