STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Be Bold

March 11th, 2015 at 2:00am

Just as Ohio weather is always unpredictable, the day began rainy and icy but turned out to be rather warm. When I say warm, I am talking about a high of 40 degrees with a windchill of around twenty. So, the arctic tundra that has been northeast Ohio for the past two months has finally warmed up for once and it has been a long time coming! This had Fashionistas/os leaving behind their big bulky coats and reaching for something a little lighter.

Anticipation for spring is in full effect in Kent and this Fashionisto nailed his spring fever perfectly! With umbrella in hand this Fashionisto was prepared for the downpour. He paired these brave polka-dot harem pants with an oversized denim shirt and a black T-shirt. He added additional touches by accessorizing his outfit with jewelry and bags. This Fashionisto was sporting a Fashion School shoulder bag along with his backpack. He also accessorized with a watch, bracelet and a few intricate rings. There is just something about this Fashionisto that caught my eye and I think it is the ’90s vibes his attire is giving off. Does anyone else feel a channeling of Saved By The Bell? I must admit I admire that show for the wit and the fashion. Whatever it is that this Fashionisto is channeling, I love the boldness and the confidence that he portrays!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK?  “When the warmer days come around during winter, take full advantage of them! Do not be afraid to break out those coveted garments that you want to so badly wear on the days that are freezing.”

Hi everyone! I'm Melanie Witzberger from Kent State University, but you can call me Mel. I am in my third year of college, however I'm graduating this August and am so excited about it! I am currently studying Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Marketing. I can not imagine studying anything other than Fashion, I absolutely love everything about it! This is my first semester as a Style Guru and I can not wait to see what this semester holds. The future is bright ( I hope literally), as I hope to move to California sometime after graduation. I would love to be a Stylist, Visual Merchandiser, or Buyer in the future. I also have a deep passion for all things dealing with social media and would love have a career that involves working with it!
