BEAUTY BAR: Just Wing It

April 18th, 2017 at 2:00am

There are so many things that you can do with makeup. From keeping it classic with a bold red lip to trying something new, like rainbow-colored eyeliner. There are no rules, and everyone seems to have their own, unique, “signature” look based on what best suits them personally.

Some classic makeup staples that I sincerely believe look good on anyone are winged eyeliner and nude lips. Oh, and don’t forget about a little contour and highlight. This genius Fashionista combined all four of these looks to make one that was all her own, and timelessly flawless.

Her subtle wing gave a feeling of edge to her otherwise preppy look. White canvas shoes, dark denim, a crisp button-down, and a solid colored sweater, all of these items are what you’d expect to find in a J.Crew catalog. This Fashionista even chose to layer her sweater over her button-down, and accessorize with simple, understated jewelry and a classy, pastel nail color. The winged eyeliner contrasted her look nicely, giving it a more unique feel better suited for her personality. She completed the look even further with her double ear piercing and small nose stud.

In addition to her winged eyeliner, this Fashionista’s highlight and contour were “on fleek,” as the kids are saying these days. These two seemingly small things bring life to the face, giving Fashionistas everywhere a fun glow and more facial depth. She completed her look, which I like to refer to as “preppy with a twist,” with a matte lip that was just slightly darker than her actual lip color.
