STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Falling into Spring

March 24th, 2016 at 2:00am

Spring is here and I am so excited! The first few days of spring in March are wonderful days after the cold winter days we endured in January and February. Some items from your fall/winter wardrobe can easily be taken into spring. I love that this Fashionista paired this felt floppy hat from the fall and winter seasons with an outfit perfect for spring!

A trend that has stuck around for the spring is flare jeans! High-waisted flare jeans are making a comeback along with other ’70s trends. Flare jeans can easily be reworked from an outfit from the fall into a spring outfit. She combined a pair of high-waisted flare jeans with a colorful floral blouse that really puts us in a spring state of mind. She finished off this fresh look with a tan floppy hat that was taken from fall/winter fashion into spring fashion. The colors in the outfit all come together nicely and the wash of the jeans pair so wonderfully with the bright-colored flowers in the blouse. This was a super fun outfit to shoot!

There is definitely a ’70s vibe created with this look. I love that this Fashionista took the ’70s trends that are on the rise and ran with them to create this bold look. This fun outfit could be worn to brunch with friends or out on the town for spring break or vacation. The floral blouse and the floppy hat worn in the outfit are both perfect for a sunny spring day.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Give your skinnies and boyfriend jeans a break and try this flare leg trend! I love pairing mine with a long sleeve blouse in the spring. It’s always fun to add bold floral prints when spring rolls around!”

A lot of my heart is invested in children, but I also have a strong interest in fashion. Although teaching and fashion are not directly correlated, they are two of my strongest interest. I love exploring new trends. I consider my style to be hippie-chic. I consider my mind to be creative and I express myself through fashion, art, and exploration of the world and the people and places within it. Fashion inspires me because it is a way for every individual to express themselves. Unique styles intrigue me. I am inspired by interesting patterns and different fabrics. I consider my style to be unique and creative and I am always on the look out to find other unique styles around me.
